Race Plans

My original plan was to do 3 standard and 3 middle distance triathlons this year. The standards were to be Wetherby in May, which I missed because I was ill, Gullane and Milton Keynes. I'm still doing Gullane next month but I had to withdraw from MK because Gullane was moved a week earlier and it didn't make sense to miss a local triathlon for another 300 miles away. The middles were IM UK 70.3 (done), Aberfeldy and Helvellyn. I can't do Aberfeldy now because Becky is due around the time of the race and it's a big risk to travel. I was aiming to do Helvellyn and then switch to marathon running and to do Snowdonia or Dublin at the end of October. I've decided against that and in my madness, I've entered the Big Triathlon in Fort William, which is 3 weeks after Helvellyn. It involves 1.2 miles in the sea (brrr!) and then 56 miles of mountain biking (albeit on a fast, easy-ish course) and then running up and down Ben Nevis. I should imagine I'm the only person in the country stupid enough to do Helvellyn and Ben Nevis this year. So, I need to get some hill running done.
